Always a fun topic.

For me: Black Peter "everyone knows from sin and gin..." Just learned I was wrong on that one recently.

My mom thought the AC/DC song "Dirty Deeds" was "Dirty Jeans (and they're dungarees)".

I remember a fairly hellacious stormy night at one of the earlier Red Rocks runs, get to the "But who can the weather command" lyric , we ALL sing along and the wind dies down, the rain calms down and life is good, maybe even a little better... I love Black Peter, great tune!

Nobody's ever asked me that before. It's an abbreviation of "desperate act," the name of a 'zine I published for writers back in the 1990s. I wanted to use "desperateact" as my handle but that just looks dumb, so i used the short form. I've abandoned the magazine but not the name.

J. J. Cale Lyrics - Cocaine

Cocaine Lyrics:
If you want to hang out, you’ve got to take her out, cocaine
If you want to get down, get down on the ground, cocaine
She don’t lie, she don’t lie, she don’t lie, cocaine
If you got bad news, you want to kick them blues, cocaine
When your day is done and you got to run, cocaine
She don’t lie, she don’t lie, she don’t lie, cocaine
If your thing is gone and you want to ride on, cocaine
Don’t forget this fact, you can’t get it back, cocaine
She don’t lie, she don’t lie, she don’t lie, cocaine

atleast someone else on here like the show - last night's was certainly a good one!! and you are right about House's dialogue with the dwarves - what a hoot (and what an insensitive, but correct, prick).

loved the scene of him lying on the floor too after downing a bottle of oxy's over the course of the day and draining a goodly portion of the bottle of bourbon - he was a hurtin puppy - poor House - he is big trouble now :)

edit - ooops, this is not GD related at all, i better watch myself before i get bitch slapped by the thread police ;)

I always thought the lyrics to "What's Become of the Baby" went:

Go to sleep 'cos this song is so long,
and while you sleep we will drone on and on,
and when you wake up and your wife is gone,
you will wonder, "What's become of the baby?"

And we will never tell you. Take more LSD now.
And watch House on Tuesdays at nine.

an old thread - new again. still fun!

st stephen

"been here so long he's got to calling it home"

for an age i swore the tune went - "with hair so long he started calling it home"

even worse (in every sense), billy idol's chorus to 'eyes without a face' i was sure he sang 'how's about a date'. truth!
